I have been "friended back" in Facebook by Richard Stratton, usually described in book reviews as "outlaw turned author". As I anticipate my 45th high school reunion this October, I have tried to connect to anyone I knew in the Class of 1964, however scarce the acquaintance. His latest book Altered States of America: Outlaws and Icons, Hitmakers and Hitmen has just been published in its paperback edition.
Naturally, I compared the book's subject headings in Amazon.com
with the Library of Congress Subject Headings for the same book
It could be that the catalogers at the Library of Congress are very hip, but I'm not sure
I remember Ricky as a good kid who was somewhat more worldly wise than most of us. I sat at the desk behind him in history class and remember his talking a little to the class about his summer experiences. As best I can remember he drove a truck, or at least knew truck drivers. To top it off, I think he broke his leg in Puerto Rico - all experiences beyond my horizon at that time. Anyway, here's a selective bibliography of his works:
